Part 1
It had been a quiet morning at Ghostbusters Central. The guys were sitting around and Ray had been bragging about CJ's science project for the science fair.
"I'm telling you guys. He's going to win first place; he's a chip off the old block."
Suddenly Janine peeked her head in the doorway. "You got a call from Mr. Johnson, owner of Johnson's Ice Cream Parlor. He says weird things have been happening and he wants you there ASAP."
The guys soon pulled up in front of Johnson's Ice Cream Parlor, the owner Mr. Johnson came over to them saying, "There are two ghosts in my store and they are scaring my customers and making a big mess. Please get them out of there."
The guys nodded as they can tell he was scared, Egon took him aside and said, "Not to worry sir, we will have the ghosts trapped and out of your hair."
Mr. Johnson made sure everyone was outside and safe while the guys headed inside to see what the problem was. They were searching around the place, Egon noticed his PKE meter was beeping, and he watched the needle go across the window. "Gentlemen, this could be a tough one, these ghosts are around a Class Five."
"Now what? Why can't they be around a Class Nine?" Peter grumbled.
Everyone glanced at him for a moment as they continued the bust. Just then, they heard a loud noise in the back room; it was the two ghosts that were causing trouble. They were throwing and eating ice cream all over the place.
Winston shouted, "There they are, let's get 'em!"
"Yeah, and boy are they ugly." Peter replied. One of the ghosts threw ice cream at Peter.
"Hey! Now you made me mad. I hate Maple Walnut. Like Winston said, my comrades, let's send these ghosts back to the freezer fired up."
The others nodded and went inside. The bust took a very long time because the ghosts didn't want to be trapped and they were throwing things at the guys, as one of the ghosts threw an ice cream scooper at Ray causing him to yelp:
"Hey!"
The ghosts had them all over the room. The Ghostbusters were trying to hit them with the beams. Peter noticed that the ghosts were getting tired, "Hey guys, I think they're getting tired."
The others nodded and three beams hit the two ghosts dead center. Peter threw down the trap and stepped on the pedal to open it up. The ghosts were shouting as they were being sucked in. Soon the trap was closed. It jumped for a few moments, and then became quiet. The guys came out with the ghosts in the trap, they were a little messy and sticky with ice cream and whipped cream. Mr. Johnson came over and asked, "Are they gone?"
Ray nodded as he was holding the smoking trap. "You don't have to worry about them anymore. This was great!"
He smiled, despite the bruising showing on his forehead. He gave them a check for their services and they went back to the firehouse.
After that, they had another call. The guys came back to the firehouse, tired and sticky. It had been a long morning and afternoon. As they got out of Ecto, they saw Janine and Elaine having one of their girl talks. Peter ignored the girls talking and turned to Egon.
"Those jobs were tiresome and long." he complained as he dragged himself over to Janine's desk. He placed the checks on her desk.
"Say Janine, be a nice girl and take these to the bank for us. I'm beat, I'm gonna take a shower, then head for bed."
Egon shook his head as he headed downstairs to put the ghosts in the containment unit.
Janine watched as Peter headed upstairs. "Long day?" she asked.
Winston nodded, "It was, five ghosts in one day. We just want to relax."
Elaine walked over to Ray; she smiled and gave him a kiss. When she did, she noticed the bruise on his forehead. "What happened right there?" she asked.
Ray smiled back, "I was hit on the head by a ghost who threw a ice cream scooper when we did the bust at the ice cream parlor."
"It must've been some ice cream scooper." Elaine replied as she touched it.
"It was the super duper kind and it hurts terribly."
"Oh, my poor baby. Let me kiss it and make it better." Elaine planted a gentle kiss on Ray's forehead.
Ray smiled again and said, "Stay right here, I'll be back. I got to clean myself up, I'm just a little sticky from the ice cream." Elaine nodded as he went upstairs to clean up.
A while later, the guys were all cleaned up. They were in the living room talking and eating some pizza that they had ordered. Peter, after taking a nap came and joined them.
"Hey, I hope you saved me some."
Ignoring Peter, Ray said, "Hey, do you all wanna go bowling tonight? It's from half seven till midnight. The kids are there. They asked if they could go. I said yes, since it ends late, we would be over later to take them home. Charlie's Dad gave them a ride there."
The guys all nodded.
"I can't wait to bowl. I'll beat all of you." Peter said, getting very excited.
Egon shook his head. "I've seen you bowl before Peter. Please don't try to cheat this time." he replied.
Peter pretended to look hurt. "Me cheat? Come on Egon, you know I wouldn't cheat."
Winston also shook his head and grinned at him. "Yeah Pete, I know you. So don't even try."
Janine and Elaine also wanted to go as well. "That sounds great. I love to bowl." Elaine turned to Janine. "What about you, Janine? Do you like to bowl?"
Janine shook her head, "I really don't know. I only did it a couple of times, that's it."
"Well, then you're in for a treat." Peter said, as he winked at Janine.
At half past eight, everyone headed out.
Meanwhile, at Red Lanes Bowlers, the kids were bowling and having a great time. CJ, Ronnie and Jason were playing in lane No. 8. While Jules, Nicole and Charlie were playing in lane No. 9. They've been there for a while playing a friendly game. After each one played two games apiece, they decided to take a break to get something to eat.
As they were eating, they laughed and talked.
"Isn't this great?" Nicole asked.
"Yes, it's sure is. I can't wait to play against Dad and the others when they get here. It's going to be so neat." Jules replied while she grinned.
Ronnie looked over as he heard the main door opening. "It won't be long now, Jules. Here they come."
They looked over and saw CJ and Jules' parents with their friends. They were at the counter paying for admission and getting their shoes. A young lady was behind the shoe counter.
"What size?" she asked.
"I'll take an 11." Egon replied.
"I'll take a 9." Ray said.
"11 for me, too." Winston said.
"7 for me." Elaine said.
"I'll take an 8." Janine said.
"I'll take a size 9 and would you like to go out with me?"
The girl smiled at Peter. "Call me and I'll let you know."
Peter was about say something when he got interrupted.
"This is neat, I haven't been here for a long time. I can't wait to get on the floor and bowl." Winston said.
"I know, are we going to bowl or what. I don't want to be standing around, so let's go!" Peter replied a little annoyed at Winston for interrupting him when he was scoring. But no one noticed, instead they all nodded and headed to the lanes.
The kids got up from the snack table and started to bowl again. It was Jules' turn to bowl. She got up and took the ball out of the cradle. It was also Jason's turn to bowl in the eighth lane.
They both did a pose and let their balls go. Jules' ball hit all the pins getting a strike, while Jason's only knocked down seven pins.
"Alright, Jules!" Nicole and Charlie cheered as she came back to them doing a little dance.
CJ and his friends also told her it was awesome.
Jules smiled and thanked them.
Then they heard some clapping and looked over to see the guys who had just seen the strike.
"Hey, that was great, Jules. So are you guys enjoying yourselves?" Ray asked.
The kids all nodded and CJ replied, "Yes. We're definitely having a good time."
"So did you guys just get here?" Ronnie asked.
Winston nodded, "Yes. So do you guys want to play against us? We're going to bowl in lanes five and six, so let's play." The guys went down to those lanes and started to bowl as well.
Nicole grabbed Jules. "Come on, here's your chance to play against your dad!"
Jules laughed as they all hurried over to lanes five and six.
Once the kids joined them, they split into two teams: Winston, Egon, Elaine, Jules, Nicole and Charlie were playing on one team while Peter, Ray, Janine, CJ, Jason and Ronnie were the other team. Peter stood up with his ball. Winston got up for his team as well.
"Watch, I'm going to get a strike." Peter bragged as he walked up to the line, did a little dance then he sent his ball down the lane.
Winston shook his head as he let his ball go.
Their balls went rolling down the lanes. Then the sound of pins being knocked down came from lane six. Winston had gotten a strike. Peter's ball landed up in a gutter.
"Not fair, the lane was crooked."
"Peter, I think you're twisting your wrist, which is causing the ball to go in the gutter." Ray said, trying to be helpful.
"Yeah man, besides you get another turn. Just stop twisting your wrist."
"How do I do that?"
"By wearing a wrist-resistant band like Raymond is wearing,” replied Egon.
"Where do I get one?"
"I think they sell them at the counter." Janine said.
Peter went to the counter and purchased himself a wristband. After getting the counter girl's number, he returned. Placing on the wristband, he took his other turn. Then he and Winston returned to the floor with their balls. They both let their balls go. The balls rolled down the lane, Peter managed to hit the pins this time, knocking them all down this time, which gave him a spare.
Winston placed his hand on Peter's shoulder, "Way to go, my man."
Peter nodded, "At least the second time was better than nothing." He said as they went back to their own teams.
Ray and Elaine stepped up for it was their turn. They both had their balls ready.
"We'll see about that." Ray bragged to his wife, as they both sent their balls down the lane. They saw the pins get knocked down. Elaine got eight pins down, while Ray had only got two.
"Hey, that's not bad at all. At least I have eight, you only have two. Are you loosing your touch?" she teased playfully.
Ray shook his head. "No, I'm not and we have another turn, so there."
Then they sent their balls down the lane again, Elaine's ball knocked only one pin down while Ray's knocked down six. They shook hands then went back to their teams.
Elaine went back to her team with everyone cheering for her. "That was pretty good, Mom." Jules said.
Elaine smiled, "Thanks, Jules."
Next it was Egon and Janine's turn to bowl. They were both in position and they then let their balls go. Janine's knocked down only four pins while Egon got eight.
"That was pretty good." Winston said to Egon, as he was getting ready to try and knock down the last two.
Janine also had to agree with that, "Wow Egon, I didn't know that you were that good. But I'm gonna get the rest of my pins down as well."
Egon smiled before replying, "I did play a little bowling once as a experiment, but thanks."
They then returned to try and knock down the rest of the pins and they both did, give them both a spare.
A little while later, after everyone had had their turns, they decided to take a little break. It was around quarter to eleven when the break ended so they decided to bowl another game. This time, it would be the boys against the girls.
The guys were back on the floor getting ready to bowl again. So it was Jules' turn as she got up with her ball she was playing against her dad.
Ray was also stood ready with his ball.
"I'm going to get another strike." Jules bragged, as they both were in position before letting their balls go.
"I don't know about that, we'll just have to see. So don't get too cocky." Ray teased as they watched their balls. They watched as the balls rolled down the lanes hitting the pins that knocked down six pins for Jules and Ray's ball knocked down eight. They still had one more turn, so they were back in position. Together, they let their balls go.
They both got spares. Jules and Ray gave each other high-fives and went back to their teams.
Next, it was CJ and Nicole's turn. So they had stepped up with their balls and let them go. Nicole got a strike, while CJ got a spare for the guys. Then they both went back to their teams. They all had fun, even the girl who Peter got his phone number from decided to join them, since she was now off work.
This had lasted all evening. Finally, it was ten to midnight and the bowling place was going to close in 10 minutes. The guys left to return the shoes.
"Wasn't this great?" Peter asked, as they were finishing putting on their regular shoes before heading out the door into the night.
"Yeah, it was. I enjoyed bowling very much. We have to do this again real soon. Right Ray?" She asked, smiling her husband.
Ray smiled back, "Yes we do, it was fun."
He turned to the kids, "Hey, did you enjoy yourselves?"
All the kids nodded. They were very happy, but a little tired. It was too late for the Stantzes to go home. So everyone agreed that they might as well spend the night. So they all got into Ecto and drove to the firehouse for a good night's sleep, knowing it had been a fun evening and they would came back again one day.
